Privacy
Gren is built so your writing stays with you. This page says exactly where your notes are kept and what Gren's pages load.
Your notes stay on your device
Your notes, task lists, drawings, settings and earlier versions are saved in your browser's own storage on your device. They are never sent to a server, and nobody else can read them, including the people who make Gren.
There is no account, so there is nothing to sign in to and nothing about you kept on a server. The other side of this is that clearing your browser's data for gren.app also clears your notes. Use Backup now and then: it saves a file of all your notes to your device, and Restore brings them back.
What Gren does not do
- No account and no sign-in.
- No cookies.
- No advertising.
- No reading, uploading or selling of what you write.
Counting visits
Gren uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see how quickly pages load. It uses no cookies, does not follow you to other sites, and never sees what you write.
Read aloud
Your device's own voices are part of your device. The natural voices also run on your device: the first time you use one, the voice files are downloaded from Hugging Face and jsDelivr and then kept in your browser for next time. Your text is never sent anywhere to be read.
Fonts and hosting
Gren's fonts are served from gren.app itself. If you choose the OpenDyslexic font, it is downloaded from jsDelivr. The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which, like any web host, handles the requests your browser makes to load the pages.
